| Li Changzhi’s literary criticism was deeply influenced by German classical philosophy and aesthetics and the core elements were sourced from Kant, Dilthey and Humboldt. Kantian’s critical philosophy provided the basis for Li Changzhi’s criticism, Dilthey’s life philosophy leaded Li to adopt the research method of spiritual history, and Humboldt’s view of language helped Li to find the suitable angle cutting into the targets of criticism. |
