The novel The Golden Lotus advocates the moral love ethic and fraternal interpersonal ethic. Its moral values is presented by criticizing the “wine, women, avarice and pride the four cardinal vices”. Appearance form of moral values of The Golden Lotus was deployed at three facets: First, the nature of nothingness of love was shown by reflecting on the betrayal and marriage to present the appearance form of the fiction on love and sex; Second, coolness of the real world was shown by criticizing the secular and the social order to present the appearance form of realistic novel; Third, the life of virtue was shown by criticizing the desire for indulgence, moral turpitude to highlight the appearance form of moral fiction. |
