| 爱默生的实用主义思想主要包括三大论题，即：宗教、实践和真理。作为早于皮尔士和詹姆士的实用主义先驱人物，爱默生的实用主义哲学既是对传统哲学的反叛，又开启了新的哲学传统，对美国的实用主义发展有着深远的影响。虽然他的思想常被诟病没有完整的体系，但那些简短的论见，正是撞击历史铜墙铁壁发出的火光，也是燎原整个美国实用主义传统的星星之火。 |

| This paper delves into Emerson’s pragmatic view from the aspects of religi on, practice and truth. As the precursor of American pragmatism prior to James and Dewey, Emerson revolted against the traditional philosophy and started a new traditio n which hadfar reaching influence upon the development of American pragmatism. Although Emerson’s thought is regarded as unsystematic, his concise philosophical views can be called the sparks that make American pragmatism a mighty flame up. |
