The economic principle is one of the universally accepted rules for human communication. This paper begins with “the principle of economy” of the language. The reasons for intertextuality and means of intertextuality in advertisement discourse are explored and analyzed from the perspective of “the principle of economy”. It is concluded that the principle of economy is the root cause of intertextuality in advertisements. |
