| Engineering Spirit is the spiritual support of engineering activities, the symbol of social civilization and the soul of engineering education. Engineering construction in China is now developing at an unprecedented speed. While proud achievements have been made, a number of problems have also emerged in engineering construction, such as insufficiency of innovation, lack of talents, damage to ecology and absence of humanistic spirit, etc. Among the various reasons for these problems, the absence of engineering spirit is an important factor. Thus engineering spirit is called for, studied, and advocated. In September 2010, the Editorial Office of Journal of Shijiazhuang Tiedao University organized a academic saloon on engineering spirit with a group of teachers from the university, and specifically had an interview with Prof. XU Chang shan, Director of Social Science Research Institute of Shijiazhuang Tiedao University. |
