| 石家庄成为新兴铁路交通枢纽以后，传统的运输路径、交通运输体系和货物流向都发生了根本性的变化，昔日获鹿的晋冀商品集散地的位置向东转移至石家庄。随着石家庄商品中转和集散地功能的逐步增强，其经济地位和实力逐步超过获鹿、正定，成为河北中南部地区的经济发展之冠。石家庄逐步具备区域经济中心的功能，实现了近代冀中南地区经济分布格局的一次重大调整，建成了以纺织和炼焦等支柱产业，奠定了近代石家庄工业产业基础。在经济功能基础上，逐步增添了政治功能和军事功能，从而具备了复合城市功能。 |

| After Shijiazhuang became the emerging railway hub, a fundamental change happened to the traditional transportation way, transportation system and the cargo flow, and it caused center of the commodity collection and distribution of Shanxi Hebei area to move eastward from Huolu to Shijiazhuang. Along with the gradual enhancement of its function as the center of commodity relay and the collection and distribution, its economic status and strength gradually surpassed Huolu, and later surpassed Zhengding, and Shijiazhuang became the local crown of economical development in south and central Hebei. Gradually, Shijiazhuang took the role of region economic center and realized a big adjustment of economy distribution pattern in central and south region in modern Hebei, and established such pillar industries as the spinning weaving and coking, and so on,which laid the foundation of modern industry of Shijiazhuang. On the basis of the economical function, political function and military function were gradually accrued to Shijiazhuang, which accordingly acquired the function of a compound city. |
